about
Hey!
My name is Simona, founder of Believers Yoga and wife + new mom living in LA.
I have spent two decades exploring movement + bodywork spaces, and along the way, I became a yoga teacher and personal trainer. To exist in these spaces and be around the people in them is my happy place.
And yet, the more time passed, the more I realized I was looking to be a part of something specific that didn’t exist yet. So, I set my sights on creating it.
I wanted something yoga-centric in essence and culture. Spiritual, but also free of pressures to engage in philosophies that didn’t align with my faith in God.
Something fun + bright. An integrative yoga studio that offered complimenting types of movement to support longevity through body balance and holistic health.
Also something hybrid: predominantly online, but with in-person elements. Yoga made accessible, alongside others who were also believing for better. Enter Believers Yoga.
A little about me: Over the years, my passion for healthy living has evolved into a love for freedom in movement. I find so much fun in exploring different genres of fitness, but yoga has became the overarching practice that threads it all together.
When I first found yoga, I was mostly drawn in by its effect on my nervous system. As a traumatized teenager in fight-or-flight, I needed help with slowing down and getting quiet with myself. Yoga did that for me.
Cultivating the ability to pause and connect within makes all the difference in achieving real results, the kind that last. With this approach, I have experienced positive changes in my own body that came to me without strain or force.
Even when I was faced with humbling autoimmune disorders (SIBO, leaky gut, and postpartum hypothyroidism), yoga worked, because the practice can be slow or fast, gentle or intense, relaxing or stimulating — whatever I need it to be. What a blessing.
So, whether I am in the throes of a chronic health condition or at the peak of my fitness, yoga fits. It is both therapeutic and athletic, and it has taught me how to move my body from a place of peace instead of ego and stress.
This is a gift I hope to share with you, too. Thanks for being here.
xo,Simona

more on
yoga for life
At Believers Yoga, it’s not about getting into the pose or looking a certain way. Those things are wonderful by-products that come with discipline and without force, but it’s really about developing a practice that gives life to your whole being - body, mind, spirit - both on and off the mat.
Here’s what you can expect here —
a bright, welcoming space
yoga made accessible - types, levels, duration
feel-good fitness classes to compliment
countless benefits ranging from therapeutic to athletic
uniquely spiritual
Believers Yoga is for movers who understand that we are more spiritual than we are physical and would love to grow their practice in a space that doesn’t ignore God.
And yet, spiritually, we make things uniquely simple, because we understand that each person’s walk with the Lord, and time on the mat, is deeply personal.
So, we let the Scriptures do most of the talking. In our yoga classes, practitioners will hear Scripture recited for meditation with minimal commentary.
Here, believers can step onto their mats and freely lean into their practices without having to work to filter out ideas that don’t align.
community
Whether you are completely new to movement in general, completely new to yoga, or a long-time mover or yogi, there is a place for you here at Believers Yoga.
We are not meant to do life alone and we do best when we are with others because we were built for that. But, the company we keep does matter, so we must choose well.
As a community of like-minded, like-spirited humans, we are journeying together to find health and freedom in our bodies + minds through the gift of yoga.
And that is a great choice.
